Message From The Chairman

Quietly, but with a slow and steady voice, the Southern people are calling out for liberty.  Their eyes are opening up all across this land, Dixie’s land.  It began immediately following the close of the War for Southern Independence and survives even unto today.

Jefferson Davis knew that the very principles that they contended would, one day, resurface and today they are bubbling up again.  It began with the Confederate Veterans uniting to remember fallen comrades and the glorious Confederacy.  Their children, sons and daughters, then took up the fight to remember the past.

Recently, heritage groups sprang up across the South to remember not only the War years, but also the old South and her fate.  Then through much toil the Southern Party was born.  This small party is quickly becoming the voice of the people of Dixie.  It has even elected candidates to office and has run a candidate for the office of Governor of one of the Southern states to lead under the banner of our righteous cause.

Still, there are those who do not understand our cause, our fight.  The Southern Party is not a political party designed just for white males who cannot forget the past.  No, it is a Party hoping to include all Southerners who wish to regain their natural, as well as their government given, liberties.  No one can truly deny that the government of the United States has ceased to operate within the bounds of the Constitution of 1789.  At one time, the Democratic Party protected the South from the usurpation of power.  It failed.  For the last few decades, Southerners looked towards the Party of Lincoln to help them preserve their rights and liberties, but that Party failed them.  Which is why Michael Andrew Grissom titled chapter 15 of his book “Can the South Survive”, “Why the Republicans Can’t Save the South”.

Now, the people of the Southern nation are searching for a new voice that will set them free.  What the Southern people as a whole needs is a workable plan that protects this country for our posterity.  Not only are our freedoms at stake, but our culture, and our very land.

The federal government, with a policy of multiculturalism - the idea that every culture needs to be separate- is actually creating a monoculture.  It is controlled by two Parties who are bent on destroying each other only to become one party at the end of the war. This war is causing more harm then good to the Southern public.  They have failed to protect Southern honor abroad, to protect the standards of the Southern people, to uphold the Southern family and to create workable policies to govern.

The North is not crying out for freedom and the West is acting to preserve their land and yet it is the South that wishes to protect her freedoms, her culture and her land.  Her people are important to her and they must be protected and we can see the sad failing of the United States government in this respect.  So, in an effort to save at least some part of what was once our Southern Nation, to revive the Southern Dream, the South must secure to herself the blessings of Liberty, and they must do it under the banner of the Southern Party.  It is the only Southern political party in existence.

There was once a political party in this land that stood for State’s Rights and the rights of the workingman.  This party traced its roots back to Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic-Republicans, but it now promotes liberal ideology.  This party denies God in government, denies a strict interpretation of the Constitution and promotes a world government.  This party was once the proud defender of the values of the Old South, now its leader claims to be a son of the New South.  This longstanding party once believed in local control, but now wants to see a powerful United Nations, which stands in opposition of the Declaration of Independence and the constitution of 1789.  The Democratic Party has become a party of liberals of the Puritan belief of higher power-humanity- of course, bent on destroying the South at her very core.

The Southern Party now must uphold the banner of the workingman and protect his interests.  We will formulate policies that protect Southern goods in foreign markets.  We must not give away our children’s inheritance.  The Southern Party will develop ways to maintain our complete independence from a world order without isolating ourselves.  The Democratic Party promotes environmental safeguards, but their plans greatly hinder economic growth.  Our plan will give a workable solution for the environment so that the land God gave us may be preserved for the future generations while not stopping economic growth.  Our Party will protect farmers and families.  Our Party will once more raise the banner of Jefferson and Madison.

The Republican Party, the conservative party that should represent Christian values, has become nothing more then a right-wing Democratic coalition.  In “Can The South Survive?” Michael Grissom writes:

“The embodiment of that new Republicanism was Ronald Reagan.  His spunk in dealing with the hippies at Berkeley, his tough talk about government being “the problem, not the solution,” and his eternal belief in cutting taxes as a way to spur the economy were what endeared him to independent-minded Southerners.  But, what Southerners overlooked was the hard fact that he was not Southern.  Even today, with a majority of Southerners imperfectly informed about their own heritage, mention of the word Reagan evokes starry-eyed idol worship among those in the South who choose not to remember that it was Ronald Reagan who gave us the troublesome Martin Luther King holiday, and that it was Ronald Wilson Reagan who not only signed but pushed for extension of the hated Voting Rights Act when it came up for renewal during his first term.  He lobbied Congress to extend the federal government’s control over elections in the Deep South states for another twenty-five years.  Like some coup-ridden banana republic, those Southern states under its provisions must endure the humiliation of federal poll-watchers who have the same type of authority Republicans gave carpetbag regimes during Reconstruction.”

With the new term of “inclusion” breaking forth in the mouths of every Republican leader, the values of the party is weakening to the point that it is difficult to distinguish the good from the bad.  As a Christian, I believe that God came to save the entire world, but as that same Christian, I believe that He did not bow to every viewpoint and adopt sin as His platform.  What the Republican Party has done is to turn it’s back upon the South and Christian people everywhere by wishing to include people from every agenda.  From pro-abortionists to pro-gay righters, The Party of Lincoln has forgotten God and His values.  Therefore let the preachers preach, let those of us with the power of the pen write, let those of us with a loud voice speak only with Divine words shout when necessary with a mighty, bold, and unshaken voice that we demand the return of our government, a government of people diligently protecting our rights for the South.

The Southern Party will maintain our heritage of God in the government.  It will be legal to pray at a high school football game and to hold student led prayers in classrooms.  Our teachers will be allowed to teach creation alongside of evolution.  Our children will learn that George Washington was a man of diligent prayer.

No longer will the legacy of Christ and our founding fathers be denied to our country because a political party refuses to stand for the truth.  The Southern Party understands the importance of truth in history and will endeavor to preserve the correct history so that our children may know fully where this country has been, the mistakes and the successes.

What is our justification of that demand?  What are our reasons for wanting a government to operate justly and under the Constitution?  How would the Southern government be different?  The people of the South need a plan, not just a political plan, but also a roadmap that shall guide them to true Liberty.  Not just economics, nor politics, but a plan to resurrect the Southern leader and the Southern devotion to our nation.  It should be a plan that gives hope and promises a better tomorrow without compromising the values of today and of our genesis.

The plan, commissioned at the first national convention of the Southern Party, which was held in Charleston, South Carolina, promises to deliver a dynamic hope for the future, the first Confederacy failed in part due to the hotheaded rush into secession.  The end of our dream – secession - must only be achieved after steps are taken to insure the South and her interests.

The south was once inferior to the North in population and in the economic resources. This time, our homeland (19 southern States from Delaware to Arizona) holds over half of the population of this country, 51 per cent of the military, and our economy is the strongest of any part of the United States.  Our land is rich in industry as well as farming interests and of all things (which the government will not tell you) oil and natural gas.  The armed forces of the United States have built several strong bases across the face of the South and have stocked them with arms and with a great surface fleet.  Though we do not have centers of commerce such as Chicago and New York, we have Atlanta, Houston, New Orleans, St. Louis and Richmond.

We have the hard facts to plead for secession, we have the numbers to prove the case, and we have the thirst for Liberty.  What we need now is a plan, a working roadmap that will lead our vehicle to Liberty.  We will then show the world that we will protect our culture, our Liberty, our environment, and ourselves.  Our policies not only will reflect our conservative nature, but it will also show that the South is a different creature than what is painted in our textbooks.  Some of these plans, may be earth shattering, some will be old and some time tested.  But all will be sought after as a means to Southern Liberty.  We seek men and women all across the South to help us put this plan into action, not as a symbolic effort, but as a sure fire method of achieving success.

Who will help our nation, The Southern Nation, have the rebirth it has longed for, for the last 140 years?

“All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee: they that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none understanding in him.”   Obadiah 1:7
